Treasure Coast Legal is proud to announce that Katherine Mish, a valued member of our legal team for nearly a decade, has been appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to serve as a Circuit Judge for the 19th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. Her appointment, announced on December 22, 2024, marks an extraordinary achievement—and a bittersweet moment for our firm family.
A Dream Realized
When Katherine first interviewed with Shaun Plymale, Owner and Managing Member of Treasure Coast Legal, she shared something that stuck with him: her ultimate professional goal was to become a judge. At the time, it was an ambitious aspiration. Today, it’s a reality.
At just 36 years old, Katherine becomes one of the youngest individuals ever appointed to the 19th Judicial Circuit Court—a remarkable distinction that speaks to both her exceptional legal talent and the depth of experience she has cultivated over her career.
A Decade of Excellence at Treasure Coast Legal
Katherine joined Treasure Coast Legal in 2015, bringing with her a foundation built at Cleaveland & Cleaveland and academic credentials from Florida State University (bachelor’s degree) and Florida Coastal School of Law (juris doctor).
Over nearly ten years with our firm, Katherine became an indispensable part of our team, specializing in family law and bankruptcy—two practice areas that require not only sharp legal acumen but also genuine compassion for clients navigating some of life’s most difficult moments. Her dedication, work ethic, and sense of purpose were evident from day one, and she quickly earned a reputation as one of the most respected advocates on the Treasure Coast.
Katherine’s contributions extended far beyond her caseload. She mentored colleagues, strengthened our firm’s capabilities, and consistently demonstrated the kind of professionalism and integrity that our clients have come to expect from Treasure Coast Legal.
A Legacy of Excellence: What This Means for Our Community
Katherine’s appointment reflects something we’ve always believed about our firm: Treasure Coast Legal is not just a law firm—it’s a place where exceptional attorneys grow, develop, and ultimately contribute to the broader legal community.
When one of our own ascends to the bench, it validates our commitment to fostering legal talent that serves our community at the highest levels. Judge Mish will now serve across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie counties—the very communities she has served as an attorney for nearly a decade.
We have no doubt that she will bring to the bench the same qualities that defined her remarkable career with us: integrity, excellence, and an unwavering dedication to justice.
Looking Forward: Treasure Coast Legal’s Continued Commitment
While we will deeply miss Katherine’s daily presence in our halls, her departure opens an exciting new chapter—both for her and for our firm.
Stay tuned for upcoming announcements as we introduce new additions to the Treasure Coast Legal team. Our commitment to serving the Treasure Coast community with knowledgeable, compassionate legal representation remains as strong as ever.
Congratulations, Your Honor
On behalf of everyone at Treasure Coast Legal—attorneys, paralegals, staff, and the thousands of clients Katherine served over the years—we extend our heartfelt congratulations to The Honorable Katherine Mish.
We have every confidence that you will serve the bench with the same integrity, excellence, and dedication that defined your remarkable career here. The Treasure Coast is fortunate to have you in this distinguished role.
Your Honor, we couldn’t be prouder.
